Description Shahar Evron 2006-10-17 20:32:10 UTC
I upgraded to listen-0.5_beta1-r1 and while emerging went fine, the program won't run anymore:

shahar.e@wintergreen ~ $ listen
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib/listen/listen.py", line 209, in ?
    ListenApp()
  File "/usr/lib/listen/listen.py", line 136, in __init__

    import formats.mutagen_tag
  File "/usr/lib/listen/formats/mutagen_tag.py", line 28, in ?
    import mutagen.apev2
ImportError: No module named apev2

/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/mutagen/apev2.py does exist, and I am not sure why it is not included. I have tried re-emerging mutagen and it didn't help.

Once I downgraded Listen back to 0.4.3-r2 everything is back to normal.

shahar.e@wintergreen ~ $ emerge  --info

Comment 2 Gian Luca Dalla Torre 2006-10-23 06:59:19 UTC

Found the problem.
After installing Listen I found a mutagen subdir in /usr/lib/listen with some file compiled. This dir override the mutagen package and it causes the error.

Removing this subdir has fixed the problem.

strange i dont have this mutagen subdir. If you uninstall listen, and reisntall it you have the dir again?

No I haven't. Once removed, this subdir never reappears, even if I reinstall Listen
Strange issue...
