Description William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-17 13:24:57 UTC
Rev-bumped a month or so ago from a previous ebuild version that has been around for a year in overlay. Been in portage for almost a month as ~arch. No bugs. Requesting stabilization now that Java generation 2 has been stabilized.
Comment 1 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-17 14:09:01 UTC
Removing archs that are not even ~arch.
Comment 2 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-18 10:26:43 UTC
[ebuild U ] dev-java/jdbc-jaybird-2.1.0 [2.0.1] USE="test -doc -examples -source (-jikes%*)"

dev-java/cpptasks from bug #151743 must go stable first

1) emerges fine
2) passes collision test
3) fails test suite (but that doesn't seem to mind)
4) how can I test it?

Comment 4 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-18 13:59:57 UTC
Resolved the junit issue. But there is a new issue with compiling the native part of the driver. I am considering introducing a use flag for that will control that. The new error most likely will have to be resolved upstream. I will look into it, and provide a patch to usptream if I can. Or at the very least file a bug with them. So looks like that will be a blocker at least for now with stabilizing this version of the driver.
Comment 5 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-19 15:17:39 UTC
This ebuild has issues on the native compilation. Not sure what I was thinking when filling stabilization. I clearly was not ;) Closing bug for now, I will re-open or file a new bug when time is right.
Comment 6 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-06 08:52:30 UTC
Re-opening stabilization bug/request for x86 only. There is a problem at the moment with compiling the JNI code on amd64. Reported to upstream and when they address, I will re-add the arch to this bug, and/or file a new stabilization request for amd64.

As for testing the test suite, junit stuff is likely the best thing to test out the most features. You will need to have firebird installed and running for the tests to complete. One or two failures in tests is normal and acceptable so long as it completes. Failures like on FBDecimal or etc. That was reported failing in the tests for 2.0.1 in http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151744.

Thanks

Comment 8 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-06 15:50:02 UTC
Very very sorry about that. I had not synced the two ebuilds. There were modifications made to 2.0.1 during the stabilization process and etc. I have applied those changes and just committed to tree. Junit tests can be run now. Again sorry about that.

That helped, thanks. Most of the tests pass, here are the ones with errors:

    [junit] Running org.firebirdsql.jdbc.TestFBWrappingDataSource
[junit] Tests run: 6, Failures: 0, Errors: 1, Time elapsed: 5.237 sec
    [junit] Test org.firebirdsql.jdbc.TestFBWrappingDataSource FAILED

    [junit] Running org.firebirdsql.management.TestFBManager
[junit] Tests run: 2, Failures: 0, Errors: 1, Time elapsed: 0.219 sec
    [junit] Test org.firebirdsql.management.TestFBManager FAILED

    [junit] Running org.firebirdsql.pool.TestDriverConnectionPoolDataSource
[junit] Tests run: 22, Failures: 0, Errors: 3, Time elapsed: 34.784 sec
    [junit] Test org.firebirdsql.pool.TestDriverConnectionPoolDataSource FAILED

    [junit] Running org.firebirdsql.pool.TestFBConnectionPoolDataSource
[junit] Tests run: 21, Failures: 0, Errors: 3, Time elapsed: 34.907 sec
    [junit] Test org.firebirdsql.pool.TestFBConnectionPoolDataSource FAILED

The firebird server is running, I have no idea if these tests are expected/known to fail.
Comment 10 William L. Thomson Jr. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-07 11:08:23 UTC
I can check with upstream, but I would assume it's know behavior. Otherwise it would be failing, instead of just producing errors. And the pass to error ratio is positive. I would say it's acceptable. Nothing to hinder the stabilization process.
