Description Tyler Montbriand 2006-10-17 10:45:11 UTC
I'm doing an emerge -e system since I'm changing compilers for the 2006.1 profile, and I keep hitting these bugs that grind big emerges to a halt.

hashit doesn't use automake, it's got it's own private make system, and it doesn't seem to like the upgrade. It doesn't implicitly build the object files for some reason, so a patch is needed to explicitly tell make to build the files before using them.

This patch, while not an ideal solution, lets me emerge --resume.

Damn, I copy/pasted emerge info from the wrong window.

Reopen with some errors.
Comment 3 Tyler Montbriand 2006-10-17 12:52:14 UTC
Creating static library 'libhashit.a'
/usr/bin/ar: lib/hashit.o: No such file or directory

Without the patch, it skips compilation completely, which causes it to fail
when making the static library since you can't make a library from
nonexistent files.
Comment 4 Markus Nigbur (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 03:29:01 UTC
Please upgrade to version 0.9.4 and reopen the bug if you still have any problems.
