the problem:
# ls -lF ~/.dosemu/drive_c/dosemu/
...
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root  38 13.  9&#26376; 16:11 generic.com -> /usr/share/dosemu/commands/generic.com
...
# locate generic.com
/usr/share/dosemu/freedos/dosemu/generic.com



the solution:
# ln -s freedos/dosemu /usr/share/dosemu/commands
# ls -lF /usr/share/dosemu
...
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root   14 17. 10&#26376; 01:00 commands -> freedos/dosemu/
...

can't reproduce, does this still happen with 1.3.4?
