tastymenu: Very nice app with many features (search apps, favorie apps, strigi integration). Very easy to navigate and find apps. http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=41866 kdesktop-menu: Gnome-Style replacement. Port of the gnome-menu to kde ;) http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=22605 As kbfx is in portage these also should get in. Both load much faster then kbfx (kbfx: 6-10sec, the others you dont notice ;)).

Created attachment 115706 [details] kde-misc/tastymenu-0.7.1.ebuild Sorry, but i thought the inherit kde would not be needed. With the last Version I could not anymore select (and run) tastymenu. Fixed with this ebuild.
Created attachment 118121 [details] kde-misc/tastymenu-0.8.1.ebuild new version, includes, besides several fixes, a german translation
The ebuild compiles and Tastymenu works just fine on amd64. I'm surprised Kbfx is the portage tree, but Tasty isn't. I would suggest adding a notice at the end of the installation that Tastymenu is a Kicker/panel widget.
I've been running 0.8.2 (franzf's ebuild from the kde-apps.org page) for months now on amd64 and it works great. I don't recall any problems with it really. Also 1.0 has just come out. And again using franzf's ebuild (available on urls below) it compiles and works as it should on amd64. Apart from that, I suggest that the URL of this "bug" is to point to either to the project's homepage or the entry in kde-apps.org. homepage: http://www.notmart.org/tastymenu kde-apps: http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Tasty+Menu?content=41866
1.0.1 was recently released.
1.0.2 released bumping the by me abovementioned ebuild works as it should this time as well.
1.0.3 came out *yawn* yea, just bumping (copying, digesting, emerging) the previous ebuild to 1.0.3 worked flawless this time as well on AMD64
Created attachment 134551 [details] kde-misc/tastymenu-1.0.3 This works great for me on AMD64 as well. Added 1.0.3 ebuild with ~amd64 keyword added. I notice, the email says maintainer-wanted@gentoo.org. What does maintaining this ebuild, or any other ebuild for that matter, require?
Hullo :] As far as I can tell it means a dev must regularly bump it in the CVS and change the ebuild if it is needed (e.g. because new/less deps, change in code, new portage/gentoo guidelines etc). But then again, I'm no dev, I'm just a guy who uses (and translates) Tasty Menu on his AMD64 laptop.
*yawn* bump to 1.0.5
1.0.5 (ebuild taken from the project page) works on: Portage 2.1.3.19 (default-linux/amd64/2007.0, gcc-4.1.2, glibc-2.6.1-r0, 2.6.22-gentoo-r9 x86_64) Maybe the cause why no-one gives this request any attention is because it started a bit ambiguious.
*yawn* bumping the build to 1.0.6 works as well on AMD64.
*yawny yawn yawn* bumping to 1.0.7 works perfectly fine on AMD64 as well. I'm thinking of opening a new (cleaner) bug. I suspect the devs don't look at this bug because of its odd summary.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. Since Tasty Menu depends on KDE 3.x, I suggest that this bug's status to be changed to RESOLVED WONTFIX.
WONTIX then
