i'm not able to use this theme-engine with gtk+1 although it is said to support
both (or at least there are two engines, one for each gtk-version)...

it looks like you needs to emerge 0.6.2-r1 to install the gtk1 theme.

This themeing stuff is a mess i agree , we should rethink this setup sometime

yeah i realized that... :)

and true this system isn't perfect, however gentoo linux overall is wonderful...
