Description Scott Stubbs 2006-10-13 12:45:39 UTC
I tried to emerge util-macros yesterday and it wasn't able to find it on any of the servers and it kept trying to. I found a discussion on the forums and didn't like their solution http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-491685-highlight-utilmacros.html?sid=1889758a07f5e5b8c4371db90a1f3ab2 so ALL I did was comment out GENTOO_MIRRORS and tried again. Then it found it at http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/util/util-macros-1.1.0.tar.bz2
Portage had been synced and upgraded right before this issue showed.

It then continued on it's way with emerging, and then today I was trying to reproduce the bug, by deleting the distfile and having GENTOO_MIRRORS not commented out. It still couldn't find the files on those servers, but skipped them very fast and then ended up at the above address and grabbed the file. Here's a listing of files that were emerged from incident to failed reproduction.

I have the exactly same problem, using stable amd64. I have browsed some servers and neither of them have util-macros-1.1.0 nor 1.1.1.

I can not send the emerge info now (I dont have my computer nearby), but I think that the info is not necessary here, is it?

Is there now, might have been a sync delay. Closing.
