Description Tåkesinn 2006-10-12 05:54:40 UTC
Heres a nice little app that could easily replace gaim on many computers. Only problem is that it has some dependency problems so I haven't been able to manually install it yet. It requires gecko-sharp and (as far as I got to) tapioca-sharp (which is where I got stumped because it depends upon mono-devel (the error I recieve while ./configuring is: checking for MONO_DEPENDENCY... configure: error: You need to install mono-devel package). But in anycase, this is a suggestion to add TWO (not one) packages to portage. net-im/landell and dev-dotnet/tapioca-sharp (or net-im/tapioca-sharp, whatever floats yer boat).
I'm not a developer so I wouldn't know where to start, I went through the ./configure file and it's all greek to me. You can get landell at http://sourceforge.net/projects/landell and tapioca-sharp (via svn) at http://sourceforge.net/projects/tapioca-voip

Happy hunting (if anyones interested)!

(oh, and here is my emerge --info)

if you are interested to help please show up in #gentoo-voip in freenode. It is already in the voip overlay and being worked on :)

Not ready but to have the files on your computer you can use:
emerge layman
layman -a voip

landell's emerge failure log

I can't understand why does the landell ebuild [1] have two "emake" and two "emake install", and why is "|| die" commented.

Anyway, there are two missing dependencies, as Tåkesinn said: gecko-sharp and tapioca-sharp. I was able to build them, but not landell. I'm attaching the log.

Comment 4 Gabriel San Roman 2007-03-13 23:41:41 UTC
i managed to build landell amnually with the patch posted above but it fails when i run it anyway

i changed the dual emake with an "emake -j1" but it fails on install with a sandbox violation. The icons path is hardcoded somewhere.

Comment 6 Santiago M. Mola (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-06 12:04:26 UTC
I'm currently updating and adding new telepathy related ebuilds in voip overlay. I compiled succesfully landell against xulrunner, but not against firefox yet due to the path thing. So, please, test it ;-)

Upstream is not active anymore. Please, reopen this bug if they ever do a new release.
