While building knoda I ran into a build failure. This appeared on several x86 machines in the office and at home. Note that not having this program is NOT a show stopper as there is ways arround using this package. I ran script to capture the build and its's output is located at http://mosburn.com/Gentoo/Errors/Knoda/knoda.fail as the output is to long. Additionally the emerge --info output of this system is Portage 2.1.1 (default-linux/x86/2006.1, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.12.5 Last Sync: Wed, 11 Oct 2006 01:53:01 +0000 ccache version 2.3 [enabled] app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-java/java-config: 1.2.11-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.4.3-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: 2.3 dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r4 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig ccache distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo" LINGUAS="en_US" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X aac aalib akode alsa amarok apache2 arts auctex audiofile automount avi background bash-completion bcmath berkd berkdb bitmap-fonts browserplugin cairo cdr cdrom chroot cjk cli cpudetection crypt cups cvs dba dga directfb divx divx4linux dlloader doc dri elibc_glibc encode ethereal festival ffmpeg firefox flash fortran gcj gd gdbm gimp gimpprint gkrellm gnome gpm gstreamer gstreamer08 gtk gtk2 i8x0 imagemagick imlib inkjar innodb input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse ipv6 isdnlog java jpeg jpeg2k kde kdepim kerberos kernel_linux lame latex ldap libg++ linguas_en_US lua maildir mmx mp3 mp4 mpeg mpeg2 mssql musicbrainz mysql ncurses nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin odbc ogg opengl pam pcre pdf pear perl php png postgress ppds pppd python qt3 quicktime readline reflection scanner sdl session spell spl sse2 ssl svg tcpd tetex tiff toolbar toolkit-scroll-bars truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb userland_GNU vhosts video_cards_i810 vorbis win32codecs xinerama xml xmms xorg xv xvid zlib" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
Don't refer to third-party links that die in a couple of days when reporting bugs. Post/attach the output here and reopen then. Thanks.
