Attached is an ebuild for APC, the Alternative PHP Cache. It is a Zend module for caching compiled PHP scripts to speed execution. I am submitting a cvs ebuild rather than the last stable release since the stable release requires mod_php earlier than 4.1 and the earliest release in portage is 4.2.3. This version works for all versions of mod_php >= 4.1 according to the site (and it works for me with 4.3.0-r2). I do NOT automatically modify the user's php.ini file. I don't know what the policy is on this, but I chose to simply spit out a few einfo's explain what to do to activate the module. I recommend dev-php for the category.
Created attachment 7912 [details] apc-cvs-1.1.0.ebuild lintool gives me an error on the ebuild about a missing copyright header, but it's there, so I think lintool must be smoking crack.
please create a working snapshot of the cvs and create a package with a date attaches, ie : 20030207.ebuild.
I'm not sure I understand what you want me to do. This actually pulls from the hourly cvs tarball that they provide on the site.
Go ahead and scrap this. Upstream decided to rewrite apc from scratch and pretty much nothing in the ebuild applies anymore. I'll make a new ebuild once they have a new stable release.
