This driver is not able to power off the backlight of my notebook (HP nx6110 with i915 graphics).
When I use xset dpms force [standby, off] the backlight is switched off only for some seconds. Same problem with xsceensaver.
I switched to version 1.7.0-r1, now it seems to work.

Yes I use it. But I get some new Problems with supend-to-RAM. I have to use vbetool to get the display working after resume.
