I just upgraded to Asterisk 1.2.12 from 1.0.1 and it seems to me Asterisk 1.2 is not ready for PRIME TIME. I have three Sipura units registered with Asterisk 1.2.12; registration goes through just fine but I can not make calls out: Got SIP response 503 "Service Unavailable" back from 10.0.0.102 -- SIP/pstn-1270-0819db50 is circuit-busy == Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/1/0) -- Executing Hangup("SIP/11-08198610", "") in new stack In addition Asterisk quits every time I try to make a call? It just terminates. This thing shouldn't be made stable. #Joseph Portage 2.1.1 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.16-gentoo-r9 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.16-gentoo-r9 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) Gentoo Base System version 1.12.5 Last Sync: Sun, 08 Oct 2006 19:30:01 +0000 distcc 2.18.3 i686-pc-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [enabled] app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-java/java-config: 1.2.11-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.3-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r4 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.17-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.2/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/lib/fax /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/spool/fax/etc" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=athlon-xp -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distcc distlocks metadata-transfer parallel-fetch sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distro.ibibio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo ftp://mirror.iawnet.sandia.gov/pub/gentoo/ ftp://sunsite.ualberta.ca/pub/unix/Linux/gentoo/ rsync://linux.rz.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/gentoo/ rsync://planetmirror.com/gentoo/" LINGUAS="" MAKEOPTS="-j4" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X acl alsa apache2 apm arts berkdb bitmap-fonts cdr cgi cli crypt cups devfs26 dlloader dri dv dvd eds elibc_glibc emboss encode esd fam foomaticdb fortran gdbm gif gimp gimpprint gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 ieee1394 imlib input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse ipv6 isdnlog java jpeg kde kernel_linux libg++ libwww mad mikmod motif mp3 mpeg mysql ncurses nls nptl nptlonly ogg opengl oss pam pcre perl png ppds pppd python qt qt3 qt4 quicktime readline reflection scanner sdl session softmmu sox spell spl ssl tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb userland_GNU video_cards_fbdev video_cards_nv video_cards_vesa vorbis xml xmms xorg xv zlib" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS
*** Bug 150545 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I did some additional testing. It seems to me after registering Sipura units (3000 and 2000) with new astersik 1.2.12 they need to be powered down and up in order to make a call out via PSTN line. However, I was able to make one call out and on second call it crashed on me, just quits. #Joseph
I was digging and I run-onto this bug at digium: http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=7972 It must be related to the crashes I've been experiencing. #Joseph
Fixed. The problem was caused by application: asterisk-app_nv_faxdetect Upgrading from Asterisk-1.0... to Asterisk-1.2... asterisk-app_nv_faxdetec need to be recompile I think it should be entered as dependency during emerge. It will save other users few hours. #Joseph
