It appears that libvorbis has updated their libraries so libvorbisfile.so.0 is no longer part of the install. I have media-libs/libvorbis-1.1.2 installed. Which has: /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.a /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.la /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3 /usr/lib/libvorbisfile.so.3.1.1 I've sent an email to devs of game for fix since this is a binary package. Please set bug to resolve later. I will update/reopen when I have more information.
Reply from author: I'm sorry but we've stopped supporting Phobia III at least for now so we'll not be releasing a version that directly supports libvorbisfile.so.3. But anyway, I don't really know about the interface differences of libvorbisfile but in many cases you can simply make a symlink from libvorbisfile.so.0 to libvorbisfile.so.3. If that doesn't work the distributions often offer compat packages for the important libs. Look for a package named libvorbisfile-compat or similar. -- So it doesn't look like we will have a fixed version of this. I'll test to see if it can work with .3 and updated again.
A symlink will have to do.
*If* it works, that is...
no, do not create such a thing i say just punt it from portage
I tend to agree. While it does work with the symlink, that is a bad and dirty hack. I suggest making it depend on =media-libs/libvorbis-1.0.1-r2. That way if you have never version installed it should be blocked.
Does phobiaii suffer the same problem?
