after emerge app-portage/getdelta-0.7.5
you have this error
/usr/bin/getdelta.sh: line 404: syntax error near unexpected token `('

when you try emerge something with getdelta support.

to fix this you need just add quote: " to /usr/bin/getdelta.sh on the line 391 as last sign.

add_to_configfile BANDWIDTH 1 "the bandwidth in bytes per second. configure this if you want to reduce timeouts on small files"
