after experiencing troubles with EVMS-snapshots with recent gentoo-kernels and
vserver-kernels. i did the following withing the text-mode gentoo 2006.1 x86
installation-environment. basically creating and removing a evms-snapshot will
leave the evms-engine unusable (-> floating point exception). dunno if it's
devmapper, dm-snapshot, libdevmapper, lvm2, evms ...

same issues with recent 2.6.18 kernels, but for the sake of easy reproducibility
i tested with the gentoo-installer (2006.1 x86)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. evms_activate
2. create 2 "virtual disks" using losetup
3. create evms-regions, evms-container, evms-volumes
4. mounted the evms-volume
5. created a snapshot
6. mount and unmount the snapshot
7. remove the snapshot
8. leave evms-tool (i.e. evmsn)
9. tried to start evms-tool (evmsn or evms)
--> floating point exception.

Actual Results:
floating point exception after trying to start a evms-tools

Expected Results:
work properly! ;-)

This has nothing to do with the installer
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-09 14:07:07 UTC
Changing the severity doesn't do anything to speed up the process. It's completely unnecessary.
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-10 21:15:48 UTC
Can you verify with 2007.0, as it'll give us two places to compare, allowing for easier troubleshooting?
Comment 4 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-08 19:39:37 UTC
Can anyone verify that this is still an issue with 2008.0 Beta 1?
Comment 5 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-13 00:57:33 UTC
Please reopen if this is still an issue with the 2008.0 media
