Description Kevin N. Carpenter 2003-02-02 10:53:59 UTC
Mail subscription list information is generally pretty precious. I've always
thought of things in /var as non-critical, like log files. Minor pain if you
lose them, but you could live without them.

I'm currently running with /var/mailman symlinked to /home/mailman - but find
myself fighting symlink problems with the web interface (mostly fixed now).

Thought I drop the suggestion to migrate this to /home prior to it being
unmasked for the first time.

Thanks for the consideration.

What's the default for the mailman package (that is, if you didn't install it via the ebuild?)

I don't know anything about mailman, but I feel we should stick to defaults in situations like this.

/home/mailman is the default. Only constraint on that is that /home is NOT mounted nosuid.

Thanks!

Changed the install dir to /home/mailman.

Please submit bugs to me if this causes problems as i dont have the ability to setup mailman and test this.
