Mail subscription list information is generally pretty precious. I've always thought of things in /var as non-critical, like log files. Minor pain if you lose them, but you could live without them. I'm currently running with /var/mailman symlinked to /home/mailman - but find myself fighting symlink problems with the web interface (mostly fixed now). Thought I drop the suggestion to migrate this to /home prior to it being unmasked for the first time. Thanks for the consideration. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
What's the default for the mailman package (that is, if you didn't install it via the ebuild?) I don't know anything about mailman, but I feel we should stick to defaults in situations like this.
/home/mailman is the default. Only constraint on that is that /home is NOT mounted nosuid. Thanks! Kevin C.
Changed the install dir to /home/mailman. Please submit bugs to me if this causes problems as i dont have the ability to setup mailman and test this.
