Description Alexander Skwar 2006-09-30 11:49:04 UTC
I'm using

[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-bin-2.0.3 USE="gnome -java" LINGUAS="-af -as_IN -be_BY -bg -bs -ca -cs -cy -da de -el -en -en_GB -en_ZA -es -et -fa -fi -fr -gu_IN -he -hi_IN -hr -hu -it -ja -km -ko -lt -mk -ml_IN -mr_IN -nb -nl -nn -ns -or_IN -pa_IN -pl -pt_BR -ru -rw -sh_YU -sk -sl -sr_CS -st -sv -sw_TZ -ta_IN -te_IN -tg -th -ti_ER -tr -ur_IN -vi -xh -zh_CN -zh_TW -zu" 0 kB

In Tools -> Options -> Load/Save -> General, I enabled "Always create backup copy". I now opened an existing file (doesn't matter if it's a text document, spreadsheet or what not). When I now try to save this file, I get an error message:

   Could not create backup copy

I reported this upstream as well; please see URL http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=70014

Could you try with 2.0.4_rc3 and see if that helps?

I just did and I still have this problem.

Has to be handled upstream, nothing we can do here
