This is a handy tool for monitoring and reporting on bandwidth usage. It allows admins to set bandwidth thresholds that will generate reports (file or email) when exceeded. The report summarizes source and target IPs, protocols and used bandwidth. Its also a great way to catch a bandwidth surge before your ISP gets to slap on a surcharge.

I suggest net-analyzer. Note: Its old but still works well.
