Hi I use an iBook, that means, I have a PPC and therefore, I could not use the ATI binary modules. Therefore, I am using Mesa 6.5.1-r1 and I tried out Compiz 0.0.13_pre20060928 (with compiz-aiglx; no Xgl at all). It starts fine and it seems to be stable, except my problem: Everything is so blue! See the attached screenshot. :)
Created attachment 98391 [details] screenshot while using compiz my blue screen
I forgot one important information: I always got this message after starting compiz-aiglx: compiz: No stencil buffer. Clipping of transformed windows is not going to be correct when screen is transformed.
exactly the same problem with 0.2.0
This is bug is solved in Ubuntu, see here https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/58373, now i'm trying...
the problem on my laptop is resolved... i've got a ppc (iBook G4)... i can't say that is resolved, so i leave it open...
hopefully fixed in latest versions
It's still blue in 3.6. But as written here, it seems Xorg-related: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=392453;msg=20 I have installed xorg-server-1.1.1-r4. I will see if I have time to try out xorg-server-1.2.0 later. I reopen this bug, as it still occurs. I will report, if a new Xorg fixes this for me.
The blue bug is gone with xorg-server-1.2.0. I have other problems with Compiz though, but I think I can close this bug.
