I have an Athlon XP system with DDR Ram. The 1.4rc1 cd's boot fine to this system, but for some reason the rc2 cd's do not. I've tried with the athlon xp and the basic live cd's. The Primary (and only) Hard Drive is on a PCI ATA-100 Controller. It takes quite a while on boot for the Linux kernel to get going, but when it does get to the IDE detection it slows dramatically, then starts an occasional "hde: irq lost" error, but soon after the error becomes the only thing you can see on the screen. I've tried with all the boot options (noapci, acpi = no, etc.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot from 1.4rc2 cd 2. It takes quite a bit longer just to get the cd booting 3. repeated error on IDE detection about mid-way through booting Actual Results: I've tried multiple things all resulting in the same error, although the rc1 cd's are fine. Expected Results: boot to a root# prompt cannot, system is hung at error
what kind of motherboard and ide controller? The latest experimental livecd has better ide support then rc1/rc2
need hardware type other then pci ata-100 controller
