The Purdue campus has been without a community Gentoo mirror since the CSociety stopped maintaining their mirror some time ago. There has been an interest in re-establishing a local mirror among departments and student groups for quite a while, so we are going to attempt to provide that service. rsync://osmirrors.cerias.purdue.edu/gentoo-portage/

Also, do you plan on limiting concurrent connections?
Shyam, I'm not sure why it was lagging. The cron job is set to run at 03/33 every hour. I will set it up to do some more fine-grained logging and see what might be causing problems. For right now, it is updating as it should. We are currently limited to 15 concurrent connections, until we get a feel for how much load this is going to place on our server.
