The latest 2.6.15 kernel-compatible version, ivtv-0.4.5, suffers from a hang in mythtv when changing channels during livetv.  the ivtv changelog indicated that ivtv-0.4.4 was made available in portage to deal with mythtv issues, but it appears to be gone now.  The ivtv-0.4.6 release notes claim this bug has been fixed.  Can we get 0.4.6 or 0.4.7?
