Hi.

This post is missing the final [/quote], I think.
I'm reporting this as a bug, because I believe that when the user pressed the submit button, the quote block should have been closed. Am I wrong?

Tags only get closed when the opening tag has been created by clicking on one of the shiny bbcode-buttons. It's a client-side (JavaScript) thing, not server side. - Nevertheless a server-side bbcode-validation engine would be nice to have.

any non-ancient version of phpbb should automatically close all HTML tags opened inside posts, IIRC.

now, I don't know offhand what version of phpbb the gentoo forums use, but docs/CHANGELOG.html says it was last updated to 2.0.11.
