Gimp-Print depends on >=gimp-1.2*, but it also works with >=gimp-1.3*. So there should be a switch in the ebuild, whether gimp-1.2 or gimp-1.3 is installed to install the plugin in the correct direction. btw. what is the differenc between gimp-print and gimp-print-cups?
umm, why do you want to change the DEPEND ? >=gimp-1.2* will catch gimp-1.3* ... notice the '>'
oh my fault ;D i changed my lokal ebuild to >=gimp-1.2* but the original one only has =gimp-1.2*
i dont handle printing stuff anymore. please pass to LordVan, whom I believe is taking care of these things.
i'll test it with the new gimp 1.3 and then change ..
ok i added 4.2.5-r1 to ~x86 ... please test it ;) should work with 1.3 only too gimp-print-cups btw is just the newer version (development) ;)
4.2.5-r1 still installs the Plugin in the old Gimp 1.2 Directory, but it should be /usr/lib/gimp/1.3/plug-ins/. So why is there a separate ebuild for the development version of gimp-print and this ebuild is marked as stable?
yes i know but since 1.3.x is still package.masked i don't want to mess too much with it .. and regarding gimp-print & gimp-print-cups .. i plan to remove gimp-print-cups maybe cuz it's not a good idea to have the same package in portage with different names ... maybe i can use SLOTs but i think i'll mark 4.2.x as stable and 4.3.x as ~arch then ..
Hm, I like gimp-print-cups, because it doesn't depend on gimp, but on the other hand it depens on cups, ghostscript and perl. Merging the two packages would be a could idea and then depending on the use flags/has-version it should decide whether to install cups- and/or gimp features.
well .. u gotta know yourself then what u need/want ;) what i did now is changed deps so u can only install gimp-print OR gimp-print-cups now :) that should fix many problems and if someone ignores deps and installs anyway ... it's not really my problem cuz he/she should know her/himself then ;)
But it would be better to have one ebuild, if u want to i'll write one :)
feel free to reopen this and attach it if u want to *G* i don't have the time atm to play with such things ;)
closing for now (if u got the ebuild just append here or create a new bug if u want to .)
Created attachment 9348 [details] gimp-print-4.3.11.ebuild
gimp-print-4.3.11.ebuild with cups and gimp plugin function :) (plugin has to be tested)
please reopen the bug next time ;) btw can it install the plugin for gimp 1.3 too? ;) *G*
sorry, couldn't reopen the bug, no checkbox for that. The plugin does not support Gimp 1.3 ;D
hmm .. it doesn't? weird .. thought it does .... /me checks ;)
The README says, Gimp 1.3 is not supported, but i didn't tried it out ;D
Created attachment 9563 [details] gimp-print-4.3.11-r1.ebuild added ghostscript support tested gimp plugin and it's working :) please mark stable ;D
forget to mention that ghostscript-7.0.5.6-r1 is required, see bug 16007 (http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16007)
still alive?
Created attachment 10513 [details] gimp-print-4.3.12.ebuild version bump, any status-report?
The attachment isn't even in the Portage tree. Why? More people would try it, if it were there. I don't see why it shouldn't work, by the way. Raschbacher, you could move the ebuild to the tree right?
since i'm not the only printing team member now: reassign'in
4.3.18 is the latest dev version, now. The readme still states that it doesn't work with gimp 1.3. Did anyone test it?
fixed
