It appears that the snapshot files are updated hourly. I'd recommend using the 23:00 file from the previous day when updating the ebuild in portage, since 23:00 appears to be the last update of each day.
Updated digest in portage. Hopefully no gentoo mirrors carry an older snapshot. My used mirrors didn't have the tarball at all, so the digest should be for the 23:00 one now.
