Comment 6 Klaus S. Madsen 2006-09-26 10:08:15 UTC
I had the same problem. You can work around it, by enabling the gtk use-flag on libgpod.

I have tried to create a patch for it, but unfortunately autoreconf does not work on libgpod on my machine.
Comment 7 Elias Probst 2006-09-26 11:26:10 UTC
The same probleme here.
Has this already been reported upstream?
Comment 8 john s j anderson 2006-09-27 07:20:11 UTC
I can confirm that USE="gtk" seems to work around the bug.
Comment 9 David Philippi 2006-09-30 16:25:50 UTC
I've made a patch which resolves the problem but it requires a call to automake which in turn pulls in gtk-doc as a dependency. Not really nice but it requires some automake macro defined by gtk-doc. I'm not in the mood to write a patch which pulls that one out as well, doesn't feel right to me. I'll attach my patch and the modified ebuild.

Modified ebuild

eautoreconf isn't an option since aclocal -I m4 is required, not a plain aclocal.

The patch to fix test/Makefile.am

BTW however made bugzilla move to the next bug after a comment was rather braindead. I commited the files into the wrong bug first. :-(

Can someone mask libgpod-0.4.0 again until it actually compiles?
Comment 13 David Philippi 2006-10-06 08:06:55 UTC
BTW a modified version of my patch made its way into upstream. Modified files are Makefile.am and test-init-ipod.c. Doesn't yield a true advantage for me so I didn't update the patches here.

tester added this and should be listed as the maintainer

ok, bug fixed with a patch that is more upstream-like. I also added myself to the metadata.xml
I still dont understand that someone would not have the gtk flag on. Go GNOME go! ;)
