Adding hardened and AMD64-herds, as I can't help with both of these.

That's the well known pyuno / regcomp-bug (segfaulting during install), although I've never seen it on AMD64 before ;) Could it be that you built python with some higher optimizations? Also did you try to build with a more recent gcc? (4.1.1 seems to be stable on AMD64)
Comment 3 a_tevelev 2006-09-24 19:06:17 UTC
Rebuilt dev-lang/python to make sure that it doesn't have a higher optimisation. The same result with app-office/openoffice though:

Comment 7 michael@smith-li.com 2006-10-14 16:03:16 UTC
Just pointing out the apparent similarity between this and:

Bug 147542: Openoffice 2.0.4_rc1-r1 fails to install on ppc: unable to register pyUNO modules
Bug 150847: openoffice-2.0.3 does not build [on x86, same deal]

In case anyone wants to nail dupes or open a tracker bug.
Comment 8 4nykey 2006-10-19 05:49:27 UTC
Hello, not sure it's exactly the same, as i'm on x86, but do you people also get something like this:

*** glibc detected *** /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-2.0.4_rc2/work/ooo/build/ood680-m4/solver/680/unxlngi6.pro/bin/regcomp.bin: double free or corruption (out): 0x40f34080 ***
*** glibc detected *** /var/tmp/portage/openoffice-2.0.4_rc2/work/ooo/build/ood680-m4/solver/680/unxlngi6.pro/bin/regcomp.bin: double free or corruption (out): 0x40f34080 ***

These lines not found in log in /var/log/portage (not sure why, does it capture stderr?). But lines before and after these in my case look very similar to the ones from the first post.

This is the usual regcomp-segfault you get from uber-optimization of your CFLAGS. Still this doesn't really belong in this bug, as that is about AMD64 and hardened which is yet another special case.

Oh, sorry for the noise then.
