rsync: failed to connect to 69.56.146.174: Connection timed out (110) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(107) [receiver=2.6.8]
(In reply to comment #0) Even when it retries to a different address, it fails the same way. The only work around is to change SYNC="rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" in /etc/make.profile to SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage"

If you're getting connected to one box repeatedly it could be that you have a caching nameserver which is returning the same IP. That said, I'll look into 69.56.146.174 now.
Zane, seems your mirror is down. Can you please check and let me know what's going on? rsync: failed to connect to rsync16.us.gentoo.org: Connection timed out (110) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(107) [receiver=2.6.8]
No response, I've removed the mirror from the rsync.us rotation.
Is this still part of the rsync.namerica.gentoo.org rotation? I still get this awol mirror as my first rsync server.

I've lost the ability to host the mirror at that location(changed jobs), and have not been able to replace it as of yet.
Bump. This mirror is still down, and it's always the first one I get from rsync.namerica.gentoo.org. Please remove it from the rotation.
Sorry this took so long, removed from namerica rotation.
