I tried to install app-admin/quickswitch but it depends on Curses::Widgets which
is not available as an ebuild yet.

The KEYWORD is ppc, because I tested it only on that platform.

Seems to work for me on x86, although I get the one minor error:
/usr/lib/portage/bin/dodoc: Change* does not exist.
(don't know if it's worth modifying the ebuild for though).

Thanks for your testing!  I will mark it as x86 now. 
 
The minor error isn't worth to fix.  This is caused by the inherited perl-module.eclass and a 
missing ChangeLog inside the original package.  It would not harm the installed package 
itself.
