Other kde packages install their docs in /usr/kde/3.5/share/doc/${PN}/ Not sure why this doesn't apply to these packages, but I guess that's what causes this. kpersonalizer-3.5.4-r1 also conflicts with the same two files.

Someone apparently broke the eclass...

This bug was uncovered by commit [1] but existed a lot longer. This only happens with packages that don't install HTML docs. Instead of moving the contents of /usr/share/doc/${PF} it renames the directory because the target directory doesn't exist. This should solve that :) if [[ -n ${KDEBASE} ]] && [[ "${PN}" != "arts" ]] ; then # work around bug #97196 mkdir -p "${D}/${KDEDIR}/share/doc/" mv ${D}/usr/share/doc/* "${D}/${KDEDIR}/share/doc/" fi 1 http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/eclass/kde.eclass?r1=1.176&r2=1.177

In the ebuild? Or somewhere else?
In the kde.eclass, you can find it in /usr/portage/eclass
Si, my sloppiness.
