User-Agent: Build Identifier: as i said emerging k3b emerge wants to install transcode too. i know it's needed for k3b's video-encoding features, but this should be optional. on k3b.sourceforge.net transcode is mentioned as an optional package Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge -p k3b 2.as you see it wants to install trancode 3. Expected Results: i would like to have transcode as an optional dependency, for example if i specify the "encode" USE-flag then it uses transcode... simply removing the line mentioning transcode from the ebuild file fixes this 'problem' for me, but it's a hack.
'encode' is described in use.desc as pertaining only to mp3 (audio onl) encoding. We seem to be lacking in use flags lately. This may be better left alone until after the feeze, when we might consider some solution beyond adding more use flags.
I also would like to see this option. I love k3b as a burner, but as a video encoding front end it really isn't worthwhile. I suppose I can get by just manually disabling transcode support in the ebuild for now, but I would like to see this taken care of soon....
Committing a new rev of k3b that makes the dep on transcode dependant on use flag dvd (it seems more relevant than encode...) and moves it to RDEPEND, anyway.
