Description Lane Phillips 2006-09-16 05:56:34 UTC
I try to run Kino and it opens a blank window (with a few grey patches). In the console it does print out a bunch of messages that look like this:

(kino:12343): libglade-WARNING **: could not find signal handler 'on_entry_magic k_end_activate'.

(kino:12343): libglade-WARNING **: could not find signal handler 'on_spinbutton_ magick_end_value_changed'.

et cetera.

Could you please re-emerge libglade and check if that solves it ? If that doesn't, could you then please try emerging another version of kino (0.8.1 and/or 0.9.0) ?

Denis.
Comment 4 Lane Phillips 2006-09-16 06:48:23 UTC
Re-emerging libglade didn't work. Emerging kino-0.8.1 and kino-0.9.0 did work.

Thanks.

Please, do not close the bug, as there still is an issue. We may have to stabilize a more recent version of kino. I'll look into this ASAP.

Denis.
Comment 6 Jeff Hansen 2006-10-29 21:17:05 UTC
I had this same problem with a blank window showing up. It seems like the old kino (0.7.x) doesn't jive with the latest stable versions of gnome/glade/gtk/glib.

Anyway, after upgrading to 0.9.2, everything works fine again. I did have a problem with the video not playing well (in 0.9.2), but it started working perfectly after I deleted my ~/.kinorc file.
Comment 7 Grant Edwards 2006-11-14 12:41:35 UTC
Same here: kino 0.7.6 just creates a dead, empty window on two systems I've tried.

The "testing" version (0.9.2) works fine.
Comment 8 Luis Ferreira 2007-01-05 11:22:25 UTC
kino-0.9.2

Compiles and works fine.

Compiles fine but don't works fine

Kino experienced a segmentation fault.
Dumping stack from the offending thread

Obtained 3 stack frames.
kino [0x80729d7]
/usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0xb783f278]
/usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_main_context_prepare+0x16f) [0xb74d982f]

Done dumping - exiting.

This obviously isn't the same issue. Please try the new ebuild for kino-0.9.5 (the one I've just committed today), and open a new bug if this doesn't fix your issue.

Closing this now that 0.9.5 is stable on all architectures.

Denis.
