Version bump for sci-geosciences/gempak. Several files and tweaks are now unnecessary, and a couples new tweaks had to be added (diff is helpful here). Otherwise, no real issues, the upgrade is working fine on my machine, and I request that it be made stable for x86, as I have been using GEMPAK stably on my Gentoo machine for years.
Created attachment 96972 [details] gempak-5.9.3.ebuild Updated ebuild for gempak to version 5.9.3
Created attachment 96973 [details] gempak.env.d Updated env file for gempak to reflect new paths for binaries.
Please bump the package or I will last ride it. The chance that it doesn't compile is high.
Please update to version 6.2.0. I have been trying to and unable to get it to compile with an updated ebuild in an overlay. I am no portage developer so I am at a loss. I have issues with it not being able to find f77 as only gfortran is installed.
By now there have been 18 upstream releases and version is at 6.8.0. Is this package still maintained?
Another year has passed without any reply from maintainers. Reassigning to treecleaners. - Gentoo package last updated in 2004 - Multiple security issues in bundled libs, e.g. zlib-1.1.4 and libpng-1.2.0 - Errors during compilation: FC=g77 is hardcoded, but the Fortran command is called gfortran since a long time. (However, the build system happily continues, because its hand-crafted Makefiles don't check for exit status of subdir makes. So the user will get a broken package installed.) - Installs into strange location: /usr/gempak - License issues, see bug 465690
