I updated mysql yesterday on my Request Tracker(RT3.6.0 installed from portage) server, now i'm seeing the message:
Transactions not supported by database at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i686-linux/DBI.pm line 1657.


This seems very similar to a recent debian bug:

The problem has seemed to fix it's self after an:
emerge sync && emerge mysql Class-DBI-mysql DBD-mysql
