At first I got this error on a amd64 (stable) box while emerging Gnome, then I tryed reinstalling gentoo ~amd64 but I got the same error. I already tried python-updater and remerging libxslt. FWIW, this was first discussed on the AMD64 list, then bugged at my suggestion after nobody else had any suggestions. Again, this is from a system where the gnome-doc-utils-0.6.1 package merges just fine. Possible conflict between something in this list (and therefore presumably already merged on the problem system) and the package in question?
try re-emerging: emerge -av =app-text/docbook-xml-dtd-4.4* and report back. Thanks
