This new version includes init.d files for daemon startup as well as rc file in
/etc/dircproxy/ for central conf file.

My bad ... had a faulty init.d file which did start the daemon correctly.
Also added einfo after merge to inform of rc file updating before starting.

This overrides the previos tarball with ebuild inside.

Ummmm ... hi .. 

sorry .. I just checked after rsync .. and it's updated to 1.0.5 but nothing of my changes is there ... 

the version bump was one part .. I added other files and made changes to the ebuild that are not in the new ebuild

imo dircproxy should not run as root (and we should not really support it doing so) ... 
 
and even if support was added to chuid to another user, we still have a global etc file in 
/etc/dircproxy for it ... 
 
at any rate i see this as being something that end users should setup ... i run multiple 
dircproxies on one of my box's, none of which i do through init.d
