Description Jon Severinsson 2006-09-10 03:58:53 UTC
When I rebuilt my system with USE=threads (to more efficiently use my AMD X2) kaffeine broke. The symptom is that only a smal rectangle in the upper left corner is displayed on screen, the rest is black. The same symptom appears no matter what container and codecs I try. When trying to make screanshot of the output I found the "save screenshot" feature would save the entire frame correctly. Xine-ui and mplayer also works as expected.
I have tried to rebuilt xine-lib and kaffeine, with no change in symptom. I even tried "emerge -e world" (still with USE=threads), with no change.

Output of emerge -pv ffmpeg xine-lib xine-ui kaffeine

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

kaffeine 8.2 has been released and just renaming the ebuild to kaffeine-8.2 works here.

Even if I don't see any report of a similar issue in the bugfix I would suggest you to try out on the latest version (move the ebuild in portage
overlay and rename), as it will be probably in portage in some days.
Comment 2 Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-11 06:57:49 UTC
Probably simultaneously when I was writing Flameeyes committed in portage....
just sync and try 8.2 .
Comment 3 Jon Severinsson 2006-09-11 08:01:08 UTC
Upgraded to 0.8.2, no change.
Comment 4 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-29 11:45:12 UTC
It works for me with ffmpeg 20061016. Can you please try with that one?
