A Python data processing framework. Implemented algorithms include: Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Independent Component Analysis (ICA), Slow Feature Analysis (SFA), Growing Neural Gas (GNG), Factor Analysis, Fisher Discriminant Analysis (FDA), and Gaussian Classifiers.

I tried to reproduce the manifest error described in comment #6, but couldn't. Regardless I forced creation of a new Manifest and committed as revision 1324. Yuriy, if the new Manifest doesn't solve your problem, please delete the MDP-2.4* download in your distfiles directory (typically /usr/portage/distfiles) so that the emerge of mdp will download a fresh copy.

This was removed from the science overlay in 2020. There was one final upstream release in 2016, but there are also hundreds of new python machine learning libraries available these days. Compared to libraries like tensorflow and pytorch, I think MDP is only of historical interest.
