Bug 146943 – vanilla-sources 2.6.17.12: undefined symbol idr_replace in dm module

I upgraded from 2.6.17.11 to 2.6.17.12... just copied the config and 'make oldconfig'.  Kernel compiles fine but when I boot into it I cannot access my LVM volumes.  The device mapper module fails when modprobe'd dmesg gives the failue message:

    dm_mod: Unknown symbol idr_replace

A quick look at my /lib/modules/2.6.17.12/modules.dep shows that the dm-mod.ko has  no other dependencies so I'm guessing that this symbol should exist in my kernel but does not.

The work-around for now is to revert back to 2.6.17.11.

This is fixed in 2.6.17.13 but it is not in portage yet

It's fixed as of now (just commited the updated ebuild). Thanks Albert.
