Description Sebastian 2006-09-07 07:30:56 UTC
Hi all,

I can't use https anymore after installing openssl-0.9.8c. I followed the ebuilds advice and ran revdep-rebuild to find software that linked against lib{cryptop,ssl}.so.0.9.7 and recompiled it. I ran it again just to be sure, but all seemed right (everything linked against 0.9.8).

I also ran revdep-rebuild without arguments, it didn't find anything. To be sure I also rebooted the box. etc-update was run also, of course.

Trying to open https://forums.gentoo.org (or any other https site) Konqueror just says this:

Just a note: Maybe this is related to https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=146696 "dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.22: doesn't work with mutt"

equery d cyrus-sasl reveals:

[ Searching for packages depending on cyrus-sasl... ]
mail-client/mutt-1.5.11-r2
kde-base/kdebase-kioslaves-3.5.2

Maybe the kioslaves don't work properly with cyrus-sasl-2.1.22 as well. Allthough I'm not sure about konqueror using the cyrus-sasl libs when connecting to a https site.

I forgot to add the konsole output of konqueror refusing to connect, so here we go. It's not much, but just in case it means something to someone else:

Recompiling kdelibs fixed the issue.
