Have a laptop that doesn't work with the kernel's controller driver (yenta_socket)? Please leave a comment here with the manufacturer and model. Thanks, Chad Huneycutt (chadh@gentoo.org)
SONY Vaio PCG-N505VE
on the contrary, i have a Sony N505VE and it _only_ works with yenta_socket and not the other way round*. * it doesn't work after a suspend/resume cycle using the i82365.
Fujitsu Lifebook C1020 here. I've to admit that I don't use suspend or anything like that, but I didn't manage to work with the yenta-socket driver. Using only pcmcia-cs currently and it works fine (apart from the fact that I'm quite inexperienced with wireless-nics / I'm able to use the card. ;-)
Sony Vaio GRX516MD. Works, Kernel 2.4.21pre3 (and previous) + PCMCIA-CS. Doesn't Work 2.5.59/60 yenta_socket. Fails to allocate an IRQ. IRQs are assigned on this system using ACPI and most things get assigned IRQ 9. I think it doesn't want to share IRQs.
ibm thinkpad 600X was showing weird errors with IRQs and failing to load the yenta_socket properly until I added 'acpi=force' to my kernel boot params.
Marking CANTFIX. chadh seems MIA, and he can reopen this if he needs to.
