Description Michael Ploujnikov 2006-09-05 14:46:19 UTC
"Code Listing 1: downloading stage3 from a gentoo mirror" says:
$ cd /home/user/downloads
$ wget -c http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/x86/2005.0/stages/athlon-xp/stage3-athlon-xp-2005.0.tar.bz2

I checked two Canadian mirrors, and none of them have stage3-athlon-xp* files for 2006.0 and 2006.1 profiles.
I could only find stage3-i686-* and stage3-x86-*. In fact, I'm not even sure which one I should download for a chroot.

Please update the guide to reflect the currently available stages and make it clear which one to download.

It seems that rwth-Aachen in Germany only has that specific stage up to 2005.1.

The i686-stage works fine on my system (an Athlon64 on Gentoo 2006.1). I'm taking a look at the doc.
