Description rocknroller73 2006-09-05 14:11:55 UTC
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] media-video/ogmrip-0.10.0_rc3 USE="aac gtk2 hal matroska spell -debug -srt -theora" 0 kB

Glade files in rc3 are corrupted, leading to problems with the GUI. The specific problem is that the text boxes meant to select a number do not function (they always reset of 0 when the focus leaves the box). The up and down arrows do not function either.

The proper files can be found here (http://ogmrip.sourceforge.net/misc/), and are meant to go into <prefix>/share/ogmrip.

I can testify that this fix works.

ogmrip-0.10.0_rc3-r1.ebuild

This updated ebuild downloads and installs fixed glade files. It also fixes ogmrip-main.glade which required gnome but should not. This should fix the issues in bug# 119918.

Cheers,

Olivier

Thanks ... seems to work for me !
Comment 3 Matthias Langer 2006-09-10 19:46:22 UTC
Well, at least the glade stuff works:
When i tried to rip a dvd with
ogmrip-0.10.0_rc3-r1 USE="aac gtk hal spell theora -debug -matroska -srt"
i got, after some time (~30min):

libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.9 for DVD access

Thus, ripping failed ... I didn't experience any issues like this one with the allready masked version 0.9.0-r1;

Now i did :-( Maybe i should note, that the console messages i posted before where exactly the same for ogmrip-0.9.0-r1 and most likely not the source of the problem, as ripping just suddenly stopped after 40min or so (it may have been during audio-encoding or xvid-1st-pass) ... So, it's not unlikely that the problem mentioned above is selfmade.
Comment 5 Olivier Rolland 2006-09-11 00:11:36 UTC
Do you have the problem with all the DVD you try to rip ? You hope not because this looks like to be a problem with a broken DVD. You can try to emerge OGMRip with the 'debug' USE flag and start the rip again. The command lines spawned by OGMRip will be printed on the screen (mixed with their outputs). Try to lauch the command line that makes the ripping hang and see if it stops again. In this case, you can be sure this not OGMRip's fault.

Cheers,

Olivier

~/.gconf/ogmerip/%gconf.xml (mlangc)

this is where the program stops (the 0.10.0_rc3-r1 version):

SwScaler: Gaussian scaler, from Planar YV12 to Planar YV12 using MMX2
videocodec: XviD (704x320 fourcc=44495658 [XVID])

The progress window just vanishes, and the program looks like as if ripping has never been started; The gnome-system-monitor shows that there's a Zombie mplayer process that has been started by ogmrip ...

I'll now retry with other settings (not with another dvd because i need this one to be ripped till evening and if it doesn't work with ogmrip it doesn't work for me, as i'm not capable of doing this kind of stuff in the command line and the other ripping-guis on portage are broken)

If you want to look at the settings i've just used, they are attached (i hope this is all you need).

diff from old to new config

ok, i've now tried with a differnt configuration. This is what i've got now:

Thus, this looks more like an mplayer problem ...

Comment 9 Olivier Rolland 2006-09-11 06:30:08 UTC
Can you please be more verbose ? I cannot understand what actually happens if you provide only a command line and a bunch of use flags.

You can, for example, fully describe your problem, give the version of ogmrip, mplayer, ogmmerge, ..., the codecs and container you're using, the options you checked and say if a file has been produced.

You can, also, check the "keep temporary files" button in the prefenrences and see if the temporary files are present and playable. If so, you can run the merge command and see if the issue is related to mplayer.

Anyway, gentoo's bugzilla is not the right place to debug OGMRip. You can perhaps join OGMRip's forums.

Thanks,

Olivier

the problem i have is more verbosly described in comment #6.

i thought that you can reconstruct them from the gconf files i attached (see comment #6 and comment #7).

well, it finally turned out that ogmrip-0.10.0_rc3-r1 is ok, but suffers from bug 135326.
Comment 13 Steve Dibb (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-24 08:32:35 UTC
Fixed upstream, use rc4 or point release, thanks!
