Attatched is the ebuild of a program called TuxNES, which is an NES (not SNES) emulator. This was a really easy one to make. According to the INSTALL and README file there are no previous dependances, (how it does graphics on console I'm not sure, but X is an option in the config), just the option to compile with X, which I linked to SVGA (is this correct?). It depends on nothing not already in the Portage tree.
Hello, This bug was recently resurrected and assigned to me. I don't mind 'doing' it, but there's no ebuild attachement. Please attach it or, if there's trouble with that, send it to me at danarmak@gentoo.org.
I'm not going to add an ebuild myself. I looked at the site and didn't patricularly like it anyway. And there's a nes emulator in portage already (forget which).
As far as I can tell, the only 8-bit NES emulator currently in portage is DarcNES, which is a low-feature multi-emulator that appears no longer to be in development. TuxNES may also be abandoned (I haven't tried to contact the maintainer), but it is an NES-only emulator that works well, is open-source, and supports both native X and GGI renderers. Please find attached an ebuild for tuxnes-0.75 and a patch to help it play nice with portage. -- marshall t. vandegrift <vandem2@rpi.edu>
