Description Federico Belvisi 2006-09-04 08:06:45 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060901 Galeon/2.0.1 Firefox/1.5.0.6
Build Identifier:

Trying to send file via "send to" in right-click menu in Nautilus give error
message. gnome-extra/nautilus-sendto-0.5 is working well, but there's a
dependency that blocks nautilus-sendto-0.5 and net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta3-r1 to
co-exist (at least, not forcing them). I'm running a pretty stable system, tried
with old gcc/glibc and after the emerge world some days ago after gcc-4.1.1
stable. Still no luck.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge nautilus-sendto
2. Pair a bluetooth phone (actually, mine is Nokia 5500 Symbian 60 v3)
3. Nautilus - right click on a file, send to - bluetooth phone

Actual Results:
It stops before sending file, about 30 seconds after performed the last
mouseclick in the menu, with a windows titled "Error (gnome-obex-send)", and
with this text "Unable to read file "file:///filename".

Expected Results:
I expect that the file will be sent to mobile phone.

I have exactly the same problem. If I exec "gnome-obex-send somefile" at shell, the file is sended, but it not works with nautilus-sendto-0.7.
Comment 2 Sat Virdee 2006-10-24 06:21:49 UTC
Same problem here with nautilus-sendto-0.8.
I can bluetooth a file from the command line using 'gnone-obex-send' but Nautilus sendto feature says "Unable to read file "file:///filename"

Comment 3 Gianluca Parmiggiani 2006-10-24 08:34:14 UTC
exactly the same here too

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361520
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349228

I think this should be fixed in gnome-bluetooth 0.8 but I am unable to confirm yet.
Comment 5 Arif Lukito 2006-11-08 05:46:46 UTC
yes it should be fixed with gnome-bluetooth 0.8.0. I also need to patch libbtctl to be able to send file succesfully, see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372454
Comment 6 Gianluca Parmiggiani 2007-04-06 09:13:11 UTC
this should have been addressed here:

Comment 7 Santiago Gala 2007-04-19 19:06:39 UTC
I'm using nautilus-sendto 0.10, ant bluetooth is not appearing in the menu. When I managed to start nautilus in a console, I got the following warning:

** (nautilus-sendto:24039): WARNING **: Couldn't get default bluetooth adapter:
Method "DefaultAdapter" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Manager" doesn
't exist

I have:

[I--] [ ~] net-wireless/gnome-bluetooth-0.8.0 (0)

Comment 8 Santiago Gala 2007-04-19 19:48:01 UTC
I tried 0.8.0-r1 and it works with both gajim and bluetooth. I wonder why 0.10 is so severely broken?
Comment 9 Gianluca Parmiggiani 2007-05-17 17:33:01 UTC
gnome-extra/nautilus-sendto-0.10 started working with bluetooth after having upgraded to net-wireless/bluez-utils-3.10.1-r1 today :)
Comment 10 Saleem Abdulrasool (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-10-08 06:13:19 UTC
marking this as fixed since the later releases fixed the issue.
