User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060901 Galeon/2.0.1 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Trying to send file via "send to" in right-click menu in Nautilus give error message. gnome-extra/nautilus-sendto-0.5 is working well, but there's a dependency that blocks nautilus-sendto-0.5 and net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta3-r1 to co-exist (at least, not forcing them). I'm running a pretty stable system, tried with old gcc/glibc and after the emerge world some days ago after gcc-4.1.1 stable. Still no luck. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. ACCEPT_KEYWORDS=~x86 emerge nautilus-sendto 2. Pair a bluetooth phone (actually, mine is Nokia 5500 Symbian 60 v3) 3. Nautilus - right click on a file, send to - bluetooth phone Actual Results: It stops before sending file, about 30 seconds after performed the last mouseclick in the menu, with a windows titled "Error (gnome-obex-send)", and with this text "Unable to read file "file:///filename". Expected Results: I expect that the file will be sent to mobile phone. emerge --info Portage 2.1-r2 (default-linux/x86/2006.1/desktop, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.17-suspend2-r4 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.17-suspend2-r4 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.12.4 app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-lang/python: 2.4.3-r1 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.13-r3 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=prescott -msse -msse2 -mmmx -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3.5/env /usr/kde/3.5/share/config /usr/kde/3.5/shutdown /usr/share/X11/xkb /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/splash /etc/terminfo" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=prescott -msse -msse2 -mmmx -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/gentoo http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ ftp:///ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ http://www.die.unipd.it/pub/Linux/distributions/gentoo-sources/ http://mirror.gentoo.no/ http://ftp.caliu.info/pub/gentoo/ http://ds.thn.htu.se/linux/gentoo http://mirror.pudas.net/gentoo ftp://mirror.pudas.net/gentoo ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/gentoo/" LANG="it_IT" LINGUAS="it" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X a52 acpi alsa arts avahi avi beagle berkdb bitmap-fonts bluetooth bonobo cairo cdr cli crypt cups dbus divx4linux dlloader dri dvd dvdr eds emboss encode esd fam fat firefox flac fortran gdbm gif gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml hal howl ipv6 isdnlog jpeg ldap libg++ mad mikmod mime mono mp3 mpeg ncurses nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin ntfs nvidia ogg opengl oss pam pcre pdflib perl png ppds pppd python qt3 qt4 quicktime readline reflection reiser4 reiserfs samba sasl sdl session smp spell spl ssl tcpd timidity truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev unicode usb vorbis win32codecs xml xmms xorg xv zlib elibc_glibc input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse kernel_linux linguas_it userland_GNU video_cards_nvidia" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTDIR_OVERLAY
(In reply to comment #0) I have exactly the same problem. If I exec "gnome-obex-send somefile" at shell, the file is sended, but it not works with nautilus-sendto-0.7.
Same problem here with nautilus-sendto-0.8. I can bluetooth a file from the command line using 'gnone-obex-send' but Nautilus sendto feature says "Unable to read file "file:///filename" Sat
exactly the same here too
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361520 http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=349228 I think this should be fixed in gnome-bluetooth 0.8 but I am unable to confirm yet.
yes it should be fixed with gnome-bluetooth 0.8.0. I also need to patch libbtctl to be able to send file succesfully, see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372454
this should have been addressed here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157600#c8
I'm using nautilus-sendto 0.10, ant bluetooth is not appearing in the menu. When I managed to start nautilus in a console, I got the following warning: ** (nautilus-sendto:24039): WARNING **: Couldn't get default bluetooth adapter: Method "DefaultAdapter" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Manager" doesn 't exist I have: [I--] [ ] dev-python/pybluez-0.9.2 (0) [I--] [ ] net-wireless/bluez-libs-2.25 (0) [I--] [ ] net-wireless/bluez-utils-2.25-r1 (0) [I--] [ ~] net-wireless/gnome-bluetooth-0.8.0 (0) [I--] [ ~] sys-apps/dbus-1.0.2-r2 (0)
I tried 0.8.0-r1 and it works with both gajim and bluetooth. I wonder why 0.10 is so severely broken?
gnome-extra/nautilus-sendto-0.10 started working with bluetooth after having upgraded to net-wireless/bluez-utils-3.10.1-r1 today :)
marking this as fixed since the later releases fixed the issue.
