if you see the ebuild (http://weechat.flashtux.org/download/gentoo/weechat-9999.ebuild) of "WeeChat nightly builds" on official site of weechat, the keyword say ~AMD64. I test and it's ok :)
Did you try the versions in portage too? If yes, please reopen the bug and tell us which version you tested. We can't do much about some cvs ebuild that is not even in portage.
I have test the ebuild weechat-0.2.0 with a overlay and add in keyword ~amd64 it's ok and I use it now
