Description neal birch 2003-01-26 21:07:38 UTC
I have been in the process of installing RC2 when I finally came to the kernel.
After emerging I went into the source directory to 'make menuconfig'. I got an
error :

/bin/sh: line 1 gcc: command not found
Unable to find the Ncurses libraries.
You must have Ncurses installed in order
to use 'make menuconfig'

etc.

after doing "env-update && source /etc/profile" it works fine as the $PATH
needed to be updated; bug #12819

There needs to be something in the documentation that explains why that needs to
be done and how to do it.
