been using it for a while now. good to go on x86 and em64t.

Portage 2.1-r2 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.17-gentoo-r4 i686)
=================================================================
System uname: 2.6.17-gentoo-r4 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz

Portage 2.1-r2 (default-linux/amd64/2006.0, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.17-ck1 x86_64)
=================================================================
System uname: 2.6.17-ck1 x86_64 Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz
Comment 2 Daniel Herzog 2006-09-09 06:22:20 UTC
Obsolete, as 1.14 is out (please change the summary accordingly)

There is not reason to keep it keyworded as i think we can consider the microcode-files intel releases as stable anyway, and the website says "(28th June 2006) Updated microcode within archive, but really the code is unchanged from 1.11"
So the utility itself didnt change at all...
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-09-09 15:02:24 UTC
no, that is not how stabilization works in Gentoo
Comment 4 Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-11 09:03:00 UTC
- emerges correctly
- no warnings emitted by GCC
- passes collission test
- resulting binary succesfully uploads microcode:

deep-blue ~ # microcode_ctl -u
microcode_ctl: writing microcode (length: 249856)
microcode_ctl: microcode successfuly written to /dev/cpu/microcode

- marked X86
- removed X86 from CC

Portage 2.1.1 (default-linux/x86/2006.1/desktop, gcc-4.1.1/vanilla, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.18-rc4-g9f737633 i686)
