/sbin/splash-function.sh: line 231: /lib/splash/cache/levels: Read-only file system
/sbin/splash-function.sh: line 232: /lib/splash/cache/levels: Read-only file system

I guess, problem is that variable $CDBOOT is somehow not set. (/sbin/splash-function.sh, line 229 )

Heh... unconfirmed...

Adding spock so he can see this.
Comment 2 Michal Januszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-09-01 10:06:14 UTC
This looks like a duplicate of #128021. The problem is fixed in splashutils-1.3.

Thanks, spock... I'll leave this open until 2007.0, then, when we start using the newer splashutils.

According to agaffney, we're still seeing this on 2007.0 with splashutils 1.4.1, but I have yet to verify personally.

Is this still relevant?

Currently splashutils is broken because of an issue with #490530 so not even arch splashutils works at the moment. I think most are switching to sys-boot/plymouth at this time. Would like to see splashutils work though.

No progress in the related bug. Should we move to something else?
