Don't restrict bugs without any reason. Just leave the checkboxes alone.

I had the same problem on my install.
But the emerge -Du --newuse world fixed the problem !

(just before Gcc get compiled... maybe gcc-config fixed the problem ?)

The same problem is happening to me.  This is a fairly fresh install of Gentoo -- have been using it for about a week now. GCC 4.1.1 is what came with the install and I haven't emerged any other version.  I have done an emerge -uDN world and it hasn't helped.

And its even right .. When cross-compiling, you usually set ${CTARGET} to the Platform the cross toolchain produces binaries for. So either export CTARGET to something valid (and merge a working toolchain for it *before* trying to cross-compile stuff).
